I posted my husband’s wine label on my other blog early last month, but today I was in Sonoma and took a few pictures of the critter that gives his Cabernet its name (and logo). This Western Screech Owl watches over all of the winemaking and bottling that goes on in Jeff’s father’s barn, hence the name.
You can barely spot him in the center of the first photo, but he’s there. Of course, me and my little pocket-digital camera in a dark barn didn’t make for the best shot, but this owl is so beautiful, and is one of two that live up there. (Since the posting on my other blog, Jeff decided the owl was too fat in the original logo, so here is the leaner owl on his revised label! (Sheesh, clients!)
HERE is the previous post of the girls stomping the latest batch of grapes.
The 2006 (I lovingly call his “Rookie Red”) is so darn good, that it just might be tough to match in the coming years. It will be my pleasure to keep you updated on that. (I heart Cabernet!)
