Eileen Alexander, aka: The Fisherman’s Wife, is most responsible for my love of antiques. Years ago, I kept running into her at garage sales, flea markets and church. She finally asked me why I wasn’t an antique dealer and convinced me to sell in a darling little collective in downtown Petaluma that she sold in, and still does. So, for about 6 years I was an antique dealer. And I loved it! I only gave it up because of the time commitment and found designing from home more conducive to my family’s schedule. So…back to Eileen…she started sewing. And sewing. And collecting the most beautiful vintage barkcloth and began sewing it onto denim jackets. She’s been doing this for years and selling her creations at most shows in the area. My neighbor even has one of her jackets. The sweetest ones are the baby jackets. They are all so beautiful.
Eileen is the brains and the brawn behind the upcoming Vintage Holiday Boutique to be held in her wonderful little historic church in downtown Petaluma. She will be selling her embellished jackets, vintage fabric stockings, repurposed vintage jewelry and more.
After shopping the VHB craft show last November, I told Eileen how much I would love to sell there too. She signed me up on the spot. It has grown to feature a fantastic group of artists and crafters and I can hardly wait until the 22nd!
If you have any questions about the show, just click on the envelope in the right-hand column and e-mail me!
