Warm and Clean

Gosh I love Winter! And I love a fire burning in the woodstove.

For those of you that have a glass door fireplace or woodstove, you know how ugly that window can get from the hard build-up of soot. Well thanks to a little tip from my sister-in-law, Heidi, who worked at a woodstove shop while going to college, it turns out that for cleaning it, you only need a little water to do the trick! When the fire is out and the glass is cool, create a wet paste from mixing part water and part ash from the fireplace. Then with an old rag, rub that paste around on the inside of the glass and watch as it cleans it spotless. It’s crazy!
