Homemade Valentines

As of Saturday (Jamie’s birthday), my children are now ages 11, 12 and 13. This is the last year for my two youngest to be in elementary school, which also means the last year they exchange Valentines with their whole class.

Over the years, the kids grew bored with store-bought cards and we decided to customize their own. And even if you’re not a graphic designer with the latest software, you can still create some fun collages to color copy into valentines. Together with your child, create one or several different designs with photos or artwork on one 8.5″ x 11″ paper and take it to the copy store to color print and cut, or if possible, scan and print your own on card stock. 110lb Cover stock works great in my little desktop Epson printer.

Here are some fun ones from the past, all with the kids’ input.
