Mind If I Brag?

My best friend, the lovely Jennifer Farquhar, is featured as one of The Romantics in the new February 2009 issue of Romantic Homes Magazine! Oh, yeah, and my best friend also happens to be my sister!! CONGRATULATIONS JENNIFER!

Jenny (the name I call her-) has the sweetest vintage shop in Springfield, Missouri, my hometown. It’s called Red Books & Chairs.

If you live in the area, you HAVE to stop in. She has the most fabulous 60s cushy couch near the front counter that is not for sale. It’s to sit on and visit (like at the coffee shop in Friends). I love that. But even better than that, are the couches in her living room. There’s always a warm vintage quilt nearby, or one handmade by sweet Betty, her dear mother-in-law. Jenny will have some comfort food cooking on the stove or in the crock-pot and there’s fresh brewed ice-tea in the fridge, no matter what the weather. Everything about her surroundings and her personality says comfort. If you know her personally, you know exactly what I mean.
